Connecting to Our Community

This past week we made a presentation on Social Security and Disability to Leaps & Bounds, a multiple sclerosis self help group in Winston-Salem. The presentation was led by L & D attorney John Koontz.

The Leaps & Bounds group is an impressive group of people who are very admirably dealing with a very difficult disease and the commensurate issues they face. They welcomed us into their group, and engaged in thought provoking discussions. We appreciate the hospitality they showed to our team.

John is a Board Certified Specialist in Social Security Disability Law. He led an hour or so discussion that included a review of Social Security law with a Powerpoint visual presentation. We also discussed claims arising from long term disability insurance policies, as well as strategies to deal with disabilities and impending issues.

Being connected to the community is important to our Lewis & Daggett team. This connection is part of our values and culture. Being connected is not only fun, but also helps us be better at what we do.

Our L & D Team makes school, community, and church presentations and seminars on a regular basis. Recent topics of presentations have included Internet Safety, Introduction to the Legal System, Success for Students, and Safe Sober Prom Night. We have also presented on areas of the law including Serious Injuries, Social Security and Disability, Workers’ Compensation, and Eminent Domain/Land Taking.

We would be pleased to consider giving a presentation to your group or organization. Please call, or send us an e-mail. We look forward to staying connected to our community!
